Kids ID
On 1 September 2009, our municipality began issuing electronic identity cards to Belgian children aged under 12. These cards are also referred to as Kids-ID and they form a secure travel document for children.
The Kids-ID, which is valid for 3 years, must be applied for from the Population service a minimum of 3 weeks before leaving the country (the child must attend in person when the application is filed, and must supply 1 recent ID card photo in colour on a white background, at a charge of €3).
